Looking For Some Good Exercising Tips To Use At Home?
I'll Show You How To Use Your Home To Get A Great Workout!
Welcome to Healthy Choices health site. My desire is to help you get into shape and live healthier at the same time.
OK, so you're looking for some exercising tips to use at home? I have some great home exercising tips! Going to a gym can be a little intimidating for the first timer and regular alike. And if you're exercising with toddlers (or big ones) that you can't leave alone, my routines will give you the total body workout you want. As with any exercise program, check with your health care provider before starting any exercise program.
If done right you can get about the same quality of workout at home as you can at a gym. There are also some real advantages! First it's free! THAT'S A BONUS! Second I can workout in the same time it takes to drive to the gym and back. To me it's win-win! However these exercising tips can be used at home or at the gym alike. The purpose is to give you some options. If you do get the chance to go to the gym, you will feel right at home.
There are four sections I want to discuss. The first is the space you need, the second is the basic equipment needed, the third is a routine, and last your diet.
Space The space you need will depend on the type of exercises you will be doing.
I have adapted my equipment to my space. I bought a cross trainer bicycle and Tony Little Gazelle for inside. My weight set is too big for inside. My Bullworker is small and stands in a corner. If I were to do aerobics I would need to clear a large area in front of the TV I was using so that I wouldn't hit anything.
Also much of the exercise equipment made now is portable. You can simply take the equipment to where you have room, exercise, then put it away.
Only thing is, if you can't see it, you might not remember to use it. Put it somewhere in the way. Then you can't say you forgot!
Basic Equipment This is one area that has a lot of options. I have four pieces of exercise equipment that I use, my cross trainer bicycle, free weight set, Tony Little Gazelle and a Bullworker.
My cross trainer (was) in the living room. I found I could exercise longer when I watched the TV. Thirty minutes burns 325 calories at medium pace. I go for 30 to 45 minutes 3 times a week and 1hr once.
My weight set, cross trainer, and TONY LITTLE Gazelle are on the back patio. It's cooler out there and I work up quite a sweat. I pump the weights less often. This I do 3 times a week. As I get older size becomes less important. I bench 90 lbs 20 times for 4 sets. I had a shoulder operation 2 years ago and I'm not back to my 150 yet. (no hurry!) (As of 12/5/08 I am now up to 130 lbs. 10 times for 3 reps.)
My Bull Worker gets a regular workout all over the house. This is the sweetest exercise gadget for the arms and whole upper body. It's probably 20 years old and I love this thing. I can sit, stand, lay down, or kneel and do reps of about 80 and does this give a burn.
You can buy all sorts of things like this but the more versatile it is the more you will use it.
Here is a site with some cheap ones for sale. eBay would be a great place to pick something like this up.

Routine
Now I shared my routine with you but depending on your current physical condition you may be more or less conditioned than I am. For that reason you should go online and look up some good sites that will give suggestions based on your capabilities. I did a Google and here is a fairly good one for free weights. www.fullfitness.net/
You can Google Bull Worker and they have some great workout routines.
I want to stress this point. I have been researching the information on my site for 30 years. I am actually living most of this out on a regular basis. The key is consistancy. At 55 years old and climbing, I can still do the work of a 30 year old and then some.
No matter how old you are, there must be a starting place. The ending place is when you draw your last breath. You may never achieve your perfect shape but that isn't an excuse to quit. Most people fail because of accountability. If no one knows you are working out, they also won't know it if you quit. Try to find 2 other people who have the same goals to be healthier like you and get involved. Trust me, going to a gym won't make you work any harder. Deciding not to die a slow miserable death should give you all the will power you need to start. Having a workout buddy will keep you going.
Diet
This is more important than all the rest combined. Al the exercising tips I give you to use at home will be a waste of time if your muscles are depleted. You must, I say again, you must eat properly. I know the importance of eating properly even though I don't do it all the time. I'm still human. If I could make one suggestion that would get your metabolism working better and give you more energy it would be to eat more fresh fruits and veggies.
just click the book
This cookbook for 365 salads is out of this world. Add just 2 salads a day instead of the high fat and low nutritional food you are eating now and give it two weeks. You will probably be mad you didn't start sooner.
The main difference I am stressing is I occasionally fall off my plan, not occasionally start one. I have started several pages dealing with every aspect of health. The only reason anyone has for being poor in health is refusing to read.
For many people this is a sad reality. I don't even charge for this info. Up on the top right of this page you will see all the links to the rest of my pages. Please spend some time studying the food related links. I do everything except tell you when to eat. If you have a question you can contact me. I will gladly reply and assist you in any way I can.
